Based on a vision
With the YMCE award, we wish to support and give extra value for young media planning talent. The media landscape of today offers a wide range of media channels that can be used by media strategists. Expertise, vision and creativity more than ever are needed to construct well thought and efficient media plans.
In order to show & to promote the power of the new channels combined with classic & interactive media, we are organising an international competition among these young media planning professionals. We challenge young media planners to be as inventive and innovative as possible building a multi media strategy based on a real briefing from an advertiser.
For all partner media, this is a real opportunity to reinforce the image of their medium and to communicate about the strengths of their proposition as a real and integrated part of media plans and strategies. For advertisers and marketers, the YMCE contest offers the opportunity to meet the media planners of the future.
Every year, we find a new advertiser to give a briefing (often at their premises) at these planners and joins the jury to evaluate the work.
Strategy Edition : the start
Already during four consecutive years, young media strategists have been battling during this one day competition to win the award of best Young Media & Channel Expert.

Data Driven Edition: the story continues
2017 was the first year a new version of the YMCE saw the light: the YMCE data driven award. Even though traditional media stay important in today’s media strategies, data strategies are becoming an elementary part of touchpoint strategies developed for advertisers. It is only natural that a separate award would be created to also offer the opportunity to digital experts and data scientist to show their expertise.
This new award has been created with the input and collaboration of bpost and Bisnode.
